Shinta Mani Mustang Opens First Resort in Nepal

Shinta Mani Hotels is expanding its horizons with the launch of Shinta Mani Mustang, an exclusive 29-suite luxury all-inclusive lodge scheduled to open in August 2023. The launch of this lodge is the Bensley Collection's first property outside of Cambodia and the result of an exciting collaboration with Kathmandu-based Sherpa Hospitality Group.

Located in Mustang, an isolated kingdom in Nepal that has been off-limits to outsiders for centuries, the lodge promises unparalleled access to one of the world's most protected and preserved regions. Mustang is nestled in the Kali Gandaki valley between the majestic Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, boasting dramatic landscapes, rich Buddhist culture, and numerous monasteries that make it a perfect destination for travelers seeking uncharted territories.

Designer Bill Bensley has imbued every inch of the lodge's interiors with his signature touch, featuring warm-toned fabrics and materials that reflect the hues of the surrounding landscape. Each window of the lodge provides breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks and the valley beyond. The outdoor terrace features colossal fire pits, radiating warmth, perfect for stargazing under the glittering night sky.

Guests can look forward to an experience that compliments their unique style. The Experience program is a tribute to the warm hospitality of the local Sherpa community, featuring a series of curated excursions, from easy to intrepid, that enable guests to have a unique adventure every day of their stay for up to two weeks. The lodge also boasts an activity room that can be used for meetings, presentations, retreat events, or yoga and exercise classes.

A variety of personalized adventures, guided by seasoned Bensley Adventure Guides, include trekking, horse riding, rock climbing, cycling, archery, helicopter tours, and wellness activities. Additionally, guests can enjoy day trips such as hiking along rarely-traveled trails and indulging in Shinta Mani's farm-to-table gourmet picnics, all while surrounded by the stunning Himalayan landscape.

Further, it will take guests closer to Shangri-La with its special wellness center, designed to be a sanctuary for the mind, body, and spirit. The lodge's Tibetan wellness program is developed by a local 11th-generation Tibetan Amchi doctor, who uses traditional herbal medicine to enhance guests' well-being. The facility will feature two treatment suites with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide guests with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Complete with a hot plunge pool, steam room, sauna, shower, and two massage beds; these suites offer the perfect escape for those seeking respite and rejuvenation.

The experience is complete with Shinta Mani Mustang's The Nilgiri Restaurant, where guests taste buds will be tantalized with a fusion of modern Nepalese and Western cuisine, prepared using only locally sourced and foraged produce. Meanwhile, The Aara Bar pays homage to the exotic local Tibetan/Sherpa liquor, offering guests an opportunity to savor the authentic flavors of the region in a vibrant and convivial atmosphere. Whether seeking a romantic evening or a nightcap after an adventurous day, The Aara Bar promises an unforgettable experience for the discerning luxury traveler.

Starting from May 2023, Shinta Mani Mustang offers rates beginning at US$1,700 per couple per night, with a minimum five-night stay required. Service charges and government taxes are not included in the rate.
Guests can indulge in exclusive offerings such as all-inclusive food and beverage, private guided activities and excursions, unlimited spa treatments, and a personal Bensley Adventure Guide.

Transfers between Kathmandu and Jomsom via air or air and road are also included. For a more lavish experience, helicopter transfers and private chartered flights are available at an additional cost.
